Muse is a modular, low-cost visitor sensing system for museums and cultural spaces. Small edge stations detect presence and movement, reconstruct visit flows and measure how exhibitions really perform — while storing zero images and zero personal data.

How it works
Edge sensing stations
Compact camera stations (Raspberry-Pi class) detect people locally at low frame rates.
Zero images stored
Frames are processed on the device and immediately discarded — only anonymous numeric descriptors leave the station.
Mesh networking
A multi-hop wireless mesh carries data through thick-walled historic buildings, without new cabling.
Anonymous re-identification
Similarity search on anonymous, time-decaying descriptors reconstructs visit paths without identifying anyone.

Secure by design
Authenticated APIs, role-based access, encrypted communications and full audit logging.
Privacy by architecture
No image is stored at any point in the pipeline. The descriptors used for path reconstruction are non-biometric, anonymous and expire automatically. Identifiers are random and unlinkable to physical persons. Muse is designed so that GDPR compliance follows from the architecture itself — not from a policy promise.
Where it fits
Museums, galleries, temporary exhibitions and cultural sites — especially historic buildings where cabling is impossible and privacy expectations are highest. The same architecture adapts to other indoor venues with similar constraints.
